Residual Liquid After Evaporation

Created by Thomas at NOIDS, Modified on Mon, 31 Jul 2023 at 01:07 PM by Thomas at NOIDS

During evaporation, using the filter lid with mesh and condenser some liquid ethanol may remain.

To prevent this, remove the metal filter plate from the filter lid before starting.

This adjustment improves vapor flow through the condenser, reducing the chances of ethanol condensing back into the beaker.

The liquid left behind is usually due to ethanol condensing on the metal filter mesh and dripping back into the beaker. Eliminating the metal filter plate creates a clear path for vapors to pass through the condenser.
